It’s been a while since I last posted, but it’s been 2 months of getting used to things, lots of reading, getting over jet lag, and getting sick (for reals, I was sick 4 out of the last 7 weeks!) But, now I am feeling much better, still super tired but not jet lag, and I’m preparing to write 4 essays as my end of year exams. Newcastle has been a great city, very welcoming and the perfect weather for me. Not too much rain so far, but I know what’s coming soon. Every weekend for the first month I travelled to London for Church and now I have to opportunity to help plant the Birmingham site of our Church!
I wanted to update everyone on what I plan on doing for the next couple of months regarding this blog and my YouTube channel! I plan on going back to making weekly videos of my adventures around the UK and hopefully Europe. I will also try to start a history vlog. I’m not sure when it will go live since I have a lot of planning to do for it, but it’s going to be awesome (at least to me LOL). I have a lot of planning to do, and much reading and writing to do before January, so I will go ahead and let you all enjoy some photos from my last 2 months in the UK!
Hello from Orlando everyone!!
Today is T-minus 44 days till my flight to Newcastle and I could not be happier! But that’s not the reason I am updating y’all! The reason is A NEW VIDEO BLOG IS UP IN MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!
(Overexcited American here!)
Here is the link and I hope everyone enjoys the video. More will be coming soon as we get closer to day 0!
Off To Grad School: Newcastle Edition
Have a blessed day y’all!!
I’m just so happy!! My visa arrived this morning and I could not be happier. I took them less than 10 days to get it in NYC, process it, approve it, and send it back to me!! I feel like a little kid who was just told that everyday is Christmas or that they are going to Disney right now! I am so thankful to God my Lord who always looks after me. My anxiety didn’t have time to actually start thanks to my mind being worried about my surgery, which was good. The whole process of applying for a visa is pretty easy, however you have to make sure all of the documents are correct and that you send it which enough time.
Well everyone, I just want to say that a new video should be coming soon with details about accommodation and visa process to study in the UK. So stay on the lookout. On the meantime take a look at my other videos in my YouTube channel!!
*PS: read the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and all I have to say is that I love it and that I can’t wait to see the play. Thank you J.K Rowling!!
So, as you all might know if you have read my blog, I was accepted into Newcastle University for a Masters in European History starting September 2016, so in like 6 months, and as you can tell my the title of this post I am going crazy due to funding. While I got my loans approved, I have to self fund my airfare, visa and health surcharge, and accommodation (housing) deposit. Sooooooo, I have open a GoFund Me account and I am asking for all of the help and assistance I can get.
I am trying to raise at least $1,000 in order to get at least my visa and health surcharge taken care off. I am the sole provider in my home so it can get really tight money wise. That is why I am asking for your help in making my dream of getting my Masters true:) I am providing the link to my account and I hope y’all can help even if its just keeping me in your prayers as any little bit of help and hope helps a long way.
So here I am going to give you my everyday morning routine for a work day! I hope you enjoy it! PS: I also used this look on Valentine’s day!
Moisturizer, Primer (Almay Primer 15SPF), Bye Bye Under Eyes concealer for It Cosmetics in Neutral Medium, Nyx Full Coverage Concealer in beige
Neutrogena Compact Makeup in 40 Natural, Nyx Tango with Bronzing Powder (When leopard gets a tan), Almay Loose Finishing Powder in 200 Light/Medium
Clinique limited edition eye shadow contour palette (Gold, Bronze, Gray tones), Almay One Coat Waterproof Thickening Mascara in Black, Almay Intense Color Eyeliner in Onyx, MAC Brow color in Spike
Overnight Heatless Curls (Fount it on Jalessa’s youtube channel, works perfectly) Pretty much divide dry hair in 4 parts, put on leave-in conditioner in each part, two front parts twist them towards the back, back parts towards the front into tight buns and leave overnight. When you are ready take them of, part to the side, and style to your liking!
A. Finish getting ready
B. Use Ben Nye Burgundy Lip liner and ELF Matte Color Lip in Cranberry.
I hope you liked my morning makeup routine and if you have any questions remember to comment below and let me know what you think!
As it gets closer to my departure date, I think about what I have gone through in the past few months since I started my journey towards my future. I decided that I was not going to settle for a 8-5 job that pays good(a job that I like, and I am so happy and fortunate that I have, but it is not my dream job), and that I was going to take a chance and go into unknown territory. Since July 2015, my anxiety has gone up, I now take medication for it (which has really helped), I changed my mind about studying Spanish History and changed to German/Austrian, I started reading about the Holy Roman Empire from the 16th century to the early 19th century, have dedicated every second of my day to better myself and look after myself too. I set a goal to get healthier, not lose weight otherwise I will probably gain it instead. In 215 days, 22 hours, 17 minutes, I will be on a plane to my newest adventure. Every second that passes I think about what this new experience will be like. I am a natural worrier and I like to plan up to the last second of most things. It is hard for me as there are so many things that are not in my hands like getting a notification about financial aid. Last email just said that I will be contacted by march… MARCH! You know how long that is in Ascenett days?! That’s like 1 whole year, even thou it is only a couple of weeks away. I like to be in control of most if not everything I do, and it is starting to drive me crazy. So, as a solution I started to concentrate on looking pretty every day, doing my makeup every morning to give myself something that I can be in control of. I also started to go to the theme parks as much as possible with my friends as it gives me something to do besides worry every single day, plus I really do miss my friends. Every second it passes, it gets closer to my goal and I cannot wait, with the help of god and my mother, to get there sane.
Thank you for listening to my rant, and if you are feeling the same way about a future adventure that is coming up in your life, comment below. It is always good to know someone that is going through the same thing.
Sorry I have been MIA these past two weeks with videos, but I mistakenly erased my January favorites 2016 videos and decided to do a new thing for y’all! So, in the video coming February 15th, you will see all of the (not so) crazy things that happens in Disney when you get together with your friends after work LOL Here is the link: Adventures in Disney
I hope y’all enjoy the video!
