Photos of the Past Few Months

Hey y’all!

Here are some photos from the past couple of weeks. I am planning a blog post as well as. Video, but I got essays giving me a headache at the moment. So, here they are!

Exploring Newcastle: 2 months into my new life

Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I last posted, but it’s been 2 months of getting used to things, lots of reading, getting over jet lag, and getting sick (for reals, I was sick 4 out of the last 7 weeks!) But, now I am feeling much better, still super tired but not jet lag, and I’m preparing to write 4 essays as my end of year exams. Newcastle has been a great city, very welcoming and the perfect weather for me. Not too much rain so far, but I know what’s coming soon. Every weekend for the first month I travelled to London for Church and now I have to opportunity to help plant the Birmingham site of our Church!

I wanted to update everyone on what I plan on doing for the next couple of months regarding this blog and my YouTube channel! I plan on going back to making weekly videos of my adventures around the UK and hopefully Europe. I will also try to start a history vlog. I’m not sure when it will go live since I have a lot of planning to do for it, but it’s going to be awesome (at least to me LOL). I have a lot of planning to do, and much reading and writing to do before January, so I will go ahead and let you all enjoy some photos from my last 2 months in the UK!

XOXO,

Ascenett Stefanie

Visa Dance!

Y’all!!

I’m just so happy!! My visa arrived this morning and I could not be happier. I took them less than 10 days to get it in NYC, process it, approve it, and send it back to me!!  I feel like a little kid who was just told that everyday is Christmas or that they are going to Disney right now! I am so thankful to God my Lord who always looks after me. My anxiety didn’t have time to actually start thanks to my mind being worried about my surgery, which was good. The whole process of applying for a visa is pretty easy, however you have to make sure all of the documents are correct and that you send it which enough time.

Well everyone, I just want to say that a new video should be coming soon with details about accommodation and visa process to study in the UK. So stay on the lookout. On the meantime take a look at my other videos in my YouTube channel!!

XOXO,

Ascenett

*PS: read the script of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and all I have to say is that I love it and that I can’t wait to see the play. Thank you J.K Rowling!!

Countdown to Newcastle!!

Y’all!

I hope everyone is doing well. I am here today because it’s official: my visa has been approved and I’m moving to the UK in 52 days!!! I just can’t believe it has already been a full year since I started this blog and I began the process of applying for graduate school in the UK! I don’t think I could have done this without the help of my family, my ATP advisor, and first of all, Our almighty God. Without his help none of this would be possible. I can’t believe my dream of going back to the UK and getting  a degree in European History is finally coming true. Let me tell you; I have been trying to go back to school since the moment I graduated from my bachelors and started my Disney College Program in 2014. Getting my masters has always been part of my life plan and I was not going to take it out. I tried going back to school for a second bachelors twice but it never worked, and then when I started the process for school in the UK everything just came together so well thanks to the Lord. For me, I believe things happen for a reason and if it doesn’t happen it means there is something better out there for you. You just have to believe in yourself at all times. Now I am just a few weeks away from leaving to make my dreams come true, and I could not be happier.

Now that everything is coming along, I will be doing pre departure blogs taking about the process.

Thank you everyone!!

XOXO,

Ascenett

Funding and Going Crazy

Hello Everyone!

So, as you all might know if you have read my blog, I was accepted into Newcastle University for a Masters in European History starting September 2016, so in like 6 months, and as you can tell my the title of this post I am going crazy due to funding. While I got my loans approved, I have to self fund my airfare, visa and health surcharge, and accommodation (housing) deposit. Sooooooo, I have open a GoFund Me account and I am asking for all of the help and assistance I can get.

Send Ascenett to get her Masters in the UK

I am trying to raise at least $1,000 in order to get at least my visa and health surcharge taken care off. I am the sole provider in my home so it can get really tight money wise. That is why I am asking for your help in making my dream of getting my Masters true:) I am providing the link to my account and I hope y’all can help even if its just keeping me in your prayers as any little bit of help and hope helps a long way.

XOXO,

Ascenett

As it Gets Closer

As it gets closer to my departure date, I think about what I have gone through in the past few months since I started my journey towards my future. I decided that I was not going to settle for a 8-5 job that pays good(a job that I like, and I am so happy and fortunate that I have, but it is not my dream job), and that I was going to take a chance and go into unknown territory. Since July 2015, my anxiety has gone up, I now take medication for it (which has really helped), I changed my mind about studying Spanish History and changed to German/Austrian, I started reading about the Holy Roman Empire from the 16th century to the early 19th century, have dedicated every second of my day to better myself and look after myself too. I set a goal to get healthier, not lose weight otherwise I will probably gain it instead. In 215 days, 22 hours, 17 minutes, I will be on a plane to my newest adventure. Every second that passes I think about what this new experience will be like. I am a natural worrier and I like to plan up to the last second of most things. It is hard for me as there are so many things that are not in my hands like getting a notification about financial aid. Last email just said that I will be contacted by march… MARCH! You know how long that is in Ascenett days?! That’s like 1 whole year, even thou it is only a couple of weeks away. I like to be in control of most if not everything I do, and it is starting to drive me crazy. So, as a solution I started to concentrate on looking pretty every day, doing my makeup every morning to give myself something that I can be in control of. I also started to go to the theme parks as much as possible with my friends as it gives me something to do besides worry every single day, plus I really do miss my friends. Every second it passes, it gets closer to my goal and I cannot wait, with the help of god and my mother, to get there sane.

Thank you for listening to my rant, and if you are feeling the same way about a future adventure that is coming up in your life, comment below. It is always good to know someone that is going through the same thing.

XOXO,

Ascenett
